U.S. Mobile Subscribers and Penetration Rates by State 

November 2005

This condense, data-intensive report contains subscribers and penetration rates for 2004 and 2005 for all States, as well as the underlying top level US forecasts for 2005- 2010.  Data is presented in tabular form that allows the reader to easy incorporate the data into his own analysis work.  

State subscriber estimates are calculated from total US demand, based upon known population demographics of each area.  Factors considered include propensity to buy mobile services by age, income, occupation, and industry.

Determining Traffic Asymmetry of Future Mobile Services

March 2004

This paper discusses an offered traffic model and output that analyzes aggregate traffic results in a multi-service environment. The focus is on future (2010) mobile networks where a single service (voice) will no longer dominant. Instead there will be a mixture of many services and activities. Results include both a composite diurnal traffic distribution and offered traffic asymmetry. This paper demonstrates that, in aggregate, this traffic will be asymmetric to the downlink. This work builds upon a series of market analyses of next generation service opportunities published by the UMTS Forum and Telecompetition Group. It uses the service framework used by the UMTS Forum, 3GPP, OMA and other organizations.
